Sushi Roll Recipes
Need sushi roll recipes, can you help?
I’m looking for the recipes for “Crunchy Rolls”, I would prefer the one w/ the imitation crab meat, rather than the shrimp.Also, “Volcano Roll”, the cooked one, and “spicy mayo” sauce. THANKS..also I’d like to use either soy paper or rice paper instead of sea weed.
First of all, there really are no “sushi recipes.” You just make it with the ingredients you want. Something called a Crunchy roll is probably different from one restaurant to the next, although the one common factor is that it either has a lot of deep-fried ingredients, or the whole roll is deep fried. All you need to deep fry is tempura batter which is just flour, water, and egg (it should be a little lumpy and runnier than pancake batter.)
Names in sushi are not exact or specific, so they don’t really matter. “Volcano Roll” could mean anything. I once got something called a Volcano and the guy pour 200 proof liquor on it and lit it on fire. To me, one of the things that make sushi fun is inventing new kinds of rolls and naming them whatever you want. FYI, for my spicy mayo I use Kewpie brand mayo mixed with a little cayenne pepper, a little soy sauce, and a little sugar.
